GRAVEYARD RIDERS ASSOCIATION – RIDING FOR A CAUSE

Uncategorized

For those unfamiliar with the Graveyard Riders Association, they’re not just a bunch of blokes with a love for motorcycles, they’re a dedicated not-for-profit organisation with a mission to raise awareness for men’s mental health. Formed by a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, the association provides a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where mateship and mental wellbeing go hand in hand.

2025 has been a milestone year for the Graveyard Riders, as they recently celebrated their first 12 months in style. The anniversary event took place at Sublime Brewery and turned into a full weekend of camping, live music, and connection. Around 300 people gathered on the Saturday alone, enjoying an impressive display of more than 30 vintage cars and over 80 motorbikes gleaming in the sun.

Well-known local and international artist Chris Webb took on the role of MC, keeping the crowd entertained with his signature mix of humour, warmth, and live music. Raffles were a highlight, offering fantastic prizes such as Liberty Service Station Ross Creek petrol vouchers, exclusive Graveyard Riders merchandise, and more.

The Graveyard Riders merchandise range has now gone international, with t-shirts, hoodies, and beanies being sold across Europe and the United States. Money raised through merchandise sales and events goes directly to causes that matter, including Lifeline, who are always there to listen when you need them, and The Black Dog Institute, who continue to provide vital assistance to men struggling with mental health. Importantly, one-third of all funds raised is invested back into the local community, ensuring support is felt close to home.

Founder Marcus “MadJack” and a few other members recently completed a Suicide Assist course offered through the Thompson Institute on the Sunshine Coast. “We are not counsellors,” said Marcus. “But we have completed the two-day course which enables us to understand the mentality of someone on the brink of suicide, and we know the questions to ask and how to refer them to a place where help will be offered. This additional training further strengthens the association’s commitment to supporting men in crisis.

As night fell on the celebration, the atmosphere shifted to a more laid-back vibe. Members, supporters, and friends gathered around a roaring bonfire, sharing stories, singing along to familiar tunes, and enjoying a few beers. It was the perfect chance to relax after a big day, before retreating to caravans and campers for a well-earned rest.

The Graveyard Riders Association continues to grow, proving that when passion meets purpose, great things happen on and off the road. Through their events, merchandise, and camaraderie, they’re not only keeping the motorbike spirit alive but also shining a light on one of the most important conversations we can have: men’s mental health.
