After months of planning and anticipation, the much-awaited Community Garden is finally taking shape. Construction of the garden beds is now underway, with discussions buzzing about their layout, shape, and placement. Thanks to government grants, the project’s core group—led by dedicated members including Hannah Timperon has been able to turn vision into reality.
The group has mapped out a clear plan for how the garden will operate. The focus will be on growing fresh, seasonal vegetables alongside an array of bee-attracting flowers to support pollination and keep the garden thriving.
Looking ahead, the Community Garden team plans to hold regular meetings to ensure members stay connected and up to date. Once established, they hope to host an open day each week, as well as hands-on workshops, planting days, and delightful morning teas giving locals a chance to socialise in a welcoming, green space.
“We would love to invite the whole community to our open day, which at this stage will be held sometime in November,” Hannah said.
