Bay Bulletin celebrates 20 Years

Local Event

As our regular readers are aware, your Cooloola Bay Bulletin is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024.

20 years of providing all the local news and stories that are important to our community. To celebrate this milestone, editor and owner of Cooloola Bay Bulletin, Rachelle Rose gathered together her current dedicated team, along with a few special people who had supported her from the very beginning, for an intimate dinner at Sails At The Marina.

Although a few people were unable to attend due to other commitments, Rachelle acknowledged their support in her heartfelt speech.

One special woman in particular is Sally Joyce. Sally so wanted to be part of the celebrations but was unable due to other family commitments. “I met Sally whilst I was working at the Yacht Club”, said Rachelle.  “She held several roles over the years including reporter, until finally graphic designer”.

Rachelle went on to mention Cheryl Ferguson who was the very first reporter for the Bulletin. Unfortunately Cheryl is no longer with us, as she sadly passed away a number of years ago.

Also joining Rachelle were members of her family, her lovely partner Jamie and her beautiful daughter Jess, whose very presence in the world led Rachelle on her 20 year journey producing the Bulletin.

On hand to share the celebrations was Rachelle’s very good friend Leonie, whose technical knowledge saved Rachelle and the magazine many times at the beginning. Also present was good friend Toni. “Toni was my right arm in the office at Scullett Drive”, smiled Rachelle. “She knew all the ins and outs of running the Bulletin. “We worked so well together and we formed a beautiful friendship that has stood the test of time”.

Last, but by no means least, are Steve and Debbie, delivery contractors extraordinaire. “One day very early on, Steve popped his head over the fence and we chatted about reliable delivery”, said Rachelle. “From that day forward I have never looked back. Steve and Deb and their staff Brendan, Paul and Graham have given 100% to their attentive delivery of the Bulletin every month”.

There have been many others over the years who have contributed to the Cooloola Bay Bulletin and Rachelle would like to acknowledge every single one of them and send her gratitude.

I would personally like to take the time to congratulate Rachelle on her achievement. I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful publication for the past eight years and I am thankful every day that I can work alongside someone with such integrity and passion for the local community such as Rachelle.
