Bulletin Beginnings
The Cooloola Bay Bulletin’s story began in early 2004, when editor and creator Rachelle Rose recognised the need for the Tin Can Bay, Cooloola Cove community to have a source of local news and tourist information.
The first edition was put together with the help of a number of locals and was proudly published in March 2004. The first edition was black and white, and included a total of 40 pages, covering some stories from the local community, a tide chart, a recipe and advertisements from around 20 businesses.
Since then, the publication has been affectionately referred to as ‘The Bulletin’ or ‘The Bay Bulletin’ by locals in Tin Can Bay and the Cooloola Coast.
